Enrollment Status

A part-time student is one who takes fewer than 12 credit hours per semester, while a full-time student is one who takes 12 credits or more per semester. Depending on the evaluation of documentation submitted for placement in English and/or mathematics courses (SAT scores, scores on the Placement Test, or evaluation of high school courses and grades), students are often required to complete certain developmental courses that carry institutional credit only but which can nevertheless be used for determining semester course load and full-time status.  For timely completion of degrees, full-time students should consider in enrolling in at least 15 credits each semester.
